Wanted: wedding videographer
A couple of days ago, I blogged about Pamanhikan, a popular pre-wedding tradition in the Philippines wherein the would-be couple and their respective families meet up with each other and lay out the wedding plans together. My kuya (older brother) is getting hitched this November with his doctor girlfriend and the preparations are now in full speed after the pamanhikan last Saturday.
Kuya’s to-do checklist is quite long - church schedule arrangements, principal sponsors, entourage, keeping in touch with the wedding organizer, compeleting the guest list, choosing the modista, the photographer and wedding videographer, etc. Kuya has been calling me on the phone more frequently than usual to ask a few favors or simply coordinate on some urgent stuff. Since I’m now quite involved in this wedding prep thing, my adrenalin keeps rushing too. This is my kuya’s wedding and we want it special. One way to capture and preserve this special event is through a well-directed wedding videoraphy that’s presented much like a reality show - Something that captures real emotions instead of the usual boring poses here and there with a conventional background music you’ve probably heard in many wedding videos. We surely don’t want that for my kuya’s wedding. We’re thinking of getting the services of Buddy Gancenia, an award-winning wedding Filipino videographer who is known to create wedding videos that are cutting-edge and wouldn’t lull you to sleep. Every wedding video he creates is one of a kind. Here’s a screen shot of his website:
I personally put a premium on documentation such as photos and videos when it comes to important occasions because they serve as treasures of fond memories. How smart it is to preserve marital vows in a wedding video with all the laughters, happy faces of family and friends and look back at it until you’re old and gray.
This short video is a quick compilation of Buddy Gancenia’s masterpieces. Enjoy!

Smart to go the professional route. For my wedding I said yes to my hubby’s uncle’s offer of filming our wedding. The battery died out before the reception. It was not funny at the time.
