Keeping a job as a call center agent while being a hands-on mom (no nanny, no household helper) has been pretty much of a challenge but I can honestly say it’s fulfilling.    Since last June when the school year started, I have opted to slash my work schedule to five hours so I can send and fetch my second grader to/from school.  I’m definitely blessed to have an understanding boss who allowed me to take a schedule that goes well with my daughter’s so I didn’t have to quit my job.

This is actually my first stint in the call center industry.  It’s a far shot from my previous work experiences in marketing, retail operations and radio broadcasting.   But since I’ve always been curious about this kind of job, I took a plunge last April when the opportunity knocked.  Just like any of my previous jobs, I take this one seriously.   Quality of calls and customer satisfaction are my top priorities.  No dilly-dallying, every second counts for this working mom.

For fast and efficient outbound calls, virtual hosted predictive dialers make a big difference.  It saves valuable time, boosts agent productivity and lowers call costs. Are you in the call center business too?  Click on the link to learn more about predictive dialer services.  I know every second counts for you too.

It is awesome you have such a flexible boss. I know riding the bus, is one of the reasons that geared us toward homeschooling. I don’t work in a call center, but the equipment you stated, sounds very helpful.

  • Grampy:

Well it sounds like you are a real go getter. Life can get pretty hectic at times. But it looks like you are not forgetting the little ones. A hug and a I Love You go a long way.
Keep up the good work. I love reading your blog.

I’ve been dropping on your Entrecard widget for quite sometime, but this is the first time that I’ve learned a little bit about you on a personal level, especially your being a working and busy mom and now a call center agent. I also learned what virtual hosted predictive dialers is.

I enjoyed reading your previous posts, but now I can’t help commenting on your latest post. Not that I did not enjoy reading your previous posts, but that I enjoyed reading this post more.

    Regards.

I admire you–your strength and dedication to fulfill all the roles you took on. But, don’t forget to slow down and take good care of your health.

It’s awesome to have a flexible boss. I, too, have a flexible boss and don’t know how I stood my other jobs and the inflexibility.

I also wanted to let you know that there is an award waiting for you at The Frugal Housewife.

ho rochelle, i really admire you a lot especially you are there and knowing that many in our country always have helper even if actually they don’t really earn a lot and also scrimp, but they can’t let go of a helper yet they do nothing. here, you just have to learn to live a life like how you are living there, no helpers at all, and surprisingly, we can do all the chores, and hey, we can even blog and still work :)

thanks a lot for all the helpful inputs rochelle.

and so nice to see you in picture. your daughter i believe got her looks from you, she is so pretty and adorable.

I am a regular visitor of your blog and I like reading call center article at your blog. Do you know that a call centre providing the Government’s National Flu Pandemic Service for England has breached guidance for employing under-18s by allowing 16-year-olds to work past 10pm, it has emerged.
